So it's that time of year again where I sit and try and review my year and work out what I did better then the previous year, what I messed up on, what I've learnt and what I would like to do the following year.
For those of you who haven't seen on of these before I tend to work my way through each month and try and sum it up. So here goes with the year...2012
January-New year. I finished of my first semester at uni and then spent an extra week at home. Then I started my second semester at uni. 1/6 of my degree was done.
February- I got settled into my new semester and made some really good friends too. I also finally got to do radio stuff which I was ever so excited about. I also started to get very close to Matt from camp.
March- I revamped my blog to give it the new 'what it's like to be a Christian at uni' feel. My youth group leaders came to visit me on their way back from their holiday in Scotland. Mum had her birthday and it was my Mum's parents 50th wedding anniversary so I got to see some family a couple of times in March.
April- Easter happened. And not much else. I was very close to Matt and we really were talking everyday and it was getting a little intense.
May- I finished my first year at uni! Relatively exciting.
June- Emmanuel camping got cancelled as it was a soggy summer and I was enjoying being back home. I also went to stay with Lizzie in Leicester for a few days which was nice. It's always nice to see her. Me and Matt decided we would like to decide how things would go if we tried dating, despite living far away from each other.
July- Emmanuel got a staycation and my brother turned 18! We then went on camp which took a turn for the worse. I discovered Matt was a little too clingy and I just couldn't have space. Things hadn't been communicated properly so it just fell to pieces. The olympics started
August- The olympics were still on. I had my 20th birthday and I came home from camp. Andy Murray won gold at the olympics at Wimbledon on my birthday which was pretty special. I also helped at Greenbelt towards the end of August. An amazing experience which I would happily do all over again despite the awful weather!
September- I moved back to Sunderland and moved into a house with my girlfriends. I also got my act together and got sorted and trained up for Spark. The second year had begun!
October- Best news ever. I started working on Spark as an Assistant Producer. I was essentially being trained up. Being taught what one does and how to use the software.
November- Still working at Spark I got to know the team well and had fun on the show. I also became good friends with Chris, one of the producers.
December- December was exciting. I got taken on my first 'real' date by Chris up to Newcastle. In the snow. We then had a few 'dates' together and now I am home for Christmas talk everyday in whatever way we can. I am now almost half way through my degree!
All in all the year has been kind of exciting. I have learnt loads and made some more incredible friends. I can't say it's been a fail of a year.
I'm not sure what I want to set as resolutions for next year. Usually by this point I do. Maybe I won't have any and see what happens. I'm pretty happy with where I am in life and what I'm doing and who is in my friendship group. God has blessed me so much with them.
I hope 2012 has been amazing for you too.
Here's to 2013!
