The Big North East CU Weekend Away

The title says it all really.

This weekend I was in Leeds with my CU (and 14 other CUs!) for a massive houseparty! There were around 500 students there. We all descended in Leeds for a weekend of fun, teaching, worship, praying, food and building of friendships (and sadly not much sleeping!).

We were having teaching from Rebecca Manley Pippert. She's pretty awesome. She did 4 talks, one of which was an optional workshop, which loads of people turned up too. She talked about the doctrine of incarnation, doctrine of the cross, taught us how to do seeker bible studies using Uncover (which she wrote!) and then her workshop on how to bring up the topic of faith. I went to all of these and they were all fantastic.

I was in two minds about going and I am so glad that I did go. It was so inspiring and I can't wait to get back to university and put the stuff she taught us into action up there. (I am presently at home for 'reading week'.)

I had an amazing time with my CU too. They're awesome people and it's such a brilliant chance to bond with them and make your friendships stronger.

Sadly it is probably the first and last of these massive weekends. :( But it was incredible and a once in a lifetime chance so I'm so glad I went.
