Producing

For the last month or so I've been being trained up on Spark Sunderland as a radio producer. I say trained, more taught on the job. Offically I'm an 'Assistant Producer' but really I'm a trainee. I've been having barrels of fun and the guy who's been training me has been great as well. Which is excellent, cause generally I don't have much confidence in myself but with him I can do anything. (I don't think I've said once that I couldn't do something.)
Last week I had the job of finding a driving school for the presenter so he could re-do his driving test for a feature as this week its 'road awareness week'. This week I had to come up with an idea for a feature. Me and the producer training me came up with one and I got to be on air as we ran it! Pretty exciting.
I've been enjoying producing. Even though you do all the work and get no credit from the listeners (and sometimes the presenter though that's not happened to me) it's so much fun to do. Especially if you have an awesome team.

I can't wait to be an actual producer on Spark then on a bigger station. I'm still convinced it's what I'm meant to do. It's so exciting.
