I watched the lyric video for the song on YouTube. (See below) and the lyrics were just WOW! The lyrics were really true. And the video was pretty impressive too. The chorus has some true words.
Everybody's waiting, for you to breakdown
Everybody's watching, to see the fallout
Even when you're sleeping, sleeping
Everybody's watching, to see the fallout
Even when you're sleeping, sleeping
Interesting words I thought. My Church has been studying the book of Titus. Which was written by Paul to Titus when Titus was in Crete. It talks about Godly living. Last week we were discussing what non-Christians think about Christians and their behaviour. Incidently, if you're not a Christian and reading this, why don't you let me know?
So we said various things and people nodded and agreed and put their ideas forward. Then we started doing the study on Titus 2. (The second chapter of Titus.) It was interesting to read about how Christians should be behaving. I already knew all this but it's good to be reminded. So then I heard this song a few days later and I thought, how interesting. People who aren't Christians, but know some of your standards do actually watch you to make a mistake. And though it may not be true about everyone, I know it happens. It's happened to me. Then they pick up on it and don't drop it.
The thing is. We know we won't be perfect. We're striving to be better then how we started. We know what's expected and we try to get to that. We won't but we try and we change and get closer and closer as our behaviour, actions and ideas are changed.
Maybe you're guilty of watching and waiting for someone to slip up, then point it out to them, then you have an excuse to get at them. Don't do that. It's not helpful to that person. You may not agree with what they believe. But I'm sure there are things you agree with that others don't.
And if you're one of those people who are watched and then things get picked up on and rubbed in your face. Be the bigger person and work on it.
It's interesting how a popular music song can make you think. So enjoy the song and maybe you'll see where I'm coming from.
