So you've seen the blog about where I was supposed to go camping and it got rained off. Well it was rearranged and guess what?! Got called off. (I blame the jet stream!) Anyway, British weather wasn't going to put us off. So we had a staycation. And we had good weather for it. Typical ey?
On the Friday it was my brothers 18th birthday so we celebrated that as a church. There were challenges and David had to take part in them. We all had clothes pegs and we betted on who we thought would win. If we betted right we got a 'golden ticket' and those with the most took part in the '50p penelty shoot out' It's not what you think. They had a 50p coin. They had to place it between their bumcheeks and get it into a mug. Harder then you'd think.
On the Saturday we went to a big recreation park. We had good weather for that too. Bit of sunbathing (I've gone a little brown!), ice cream, picnic and laughter. It was a very good day. Then in the evening we had a bbq. It was a much shorter night then if we had actually gone camping. But was still fun.
Then on the Sunday we had bacon sandwiches at Church for breakfast (yum!) and a relaxed all age service.
It was a lovely weekend. And we were so blessed with the weather. There were worries Friday night about the weather but it was perfect. Not to hot and not cold and wet!
So now I'm in limbo till camp next week. This week is an off week then next week is packing and sorting out. (I'm very organised when it comes to packing.)
Tomorrow I am off shopping with a friend to find a few items of clothing for camp and have a catch up till we have all our summer events.
Maidwell is the next big thing. Enjoy your day! :)
