British Weather and a whirlwind romance

So after my blog post yesterday about how I was going to go camping today and have a great time. It's been postponed. Why you ask? British weather. It's raining. A lot. And it's meant to be very windy up at the campsite so the owners advised us not to go as they didn't think it would be overly safe to put up tents in todays weather. And even though it is forecasted to be nice tomorrow and Sunday, it will still be very muddy underfoot. So I'm spending the weekend at home. Fun!

I'm not someone who has much to do normally. And when the weather is awful like today I have to admit it makes there even less to do. So what I have ordered is a new book to read. I finished The Lucky One by Nicholas Sparks the other day during the horrible weather. (It was thundering and so I switched of my computer and the tv and read my book and finished it.) So today as I have exhuasted all the novels I own I ordered another Nicholas Sparks book. One you may know. The Notebook. I love the film and I have wanted to read the book for a while now. So thought I better give it a whirl. The film is such a whirlwind romance and I love it so much. Such love between them :) Now I have an urge to watch the film.

I love romance. I really do. And real romance. I love a love story where it happens slowly and it grows into a beautiful relationship. Where there are problems but they work through it. It's incredible. I also love it when the man is a gentleman and treats the woman with respect. How it should be. I'm such a true romantic at heart. Could be problematic if I think I have to have that real passion that's in a story but if I am blessed with a husband I will know and it'll be from God. So it'll be perfect and he'll be perfect for me :)

I have conversations with my friend Matt about relationships and marriage. We said last night how we find it strange that it keeps coming up between us. But we are both praying for our friendship to be God centred and for it to be where God wants it to be and for it to helps us grow in our love for God. So we trust him with it all :)

I think the main thing is not to focus on getting into a relationship. A wonderful friend of mine said to me and our friends that when she stopped looking for a boyfriend God placed a guy in her life who watched out for her and supported her. They have now been together for nearly 7 months and are so happy. It doesn't sound long but they had a stage before they got together for quite a while where they were pretty much together but it wasn't official.
I think that's very true and wise what she said. So don't get hung up on whether you have a boyfriend/girlfriend or not. If you are going to have one then they'll come along in God's perfect timing. Focus on serving God as a singleton. Chances are you'll spend more time in your life in relationships and in a marriage then as a singleton. So enjoy it :)
