To be a Princess....

Every little girl wants to be a princess. I saw an example of this on camp this last week. One of the little girls had her 5th birthday. All day she wore this pink princess dress and danced around in it. Such a little princess. She looked beautiful and throughly enjoyed her day and all the attention she got from everyone.

Of course the reality is that the majority of us won't become actual princesses. I believe Kate Middleton is a massive exception. Though her title is Duchess not Princess. But that's a minor point.
But then I saw something a few weeks back. God is the ultimate King and Christian girls are his daughters therefore princesses. Amazing.
We're not the kind who walk around in beautiful dresses with tiaras on our heads waving to everyone. On camp in the evening we were going through the letter 1 Peter and we were reminded about how we suffer, even for doing good! Not sure to many princesses suffer for doing good. Rather, they get more publicity and praised about it. Christians can get the other reaction.

I won't write about the latest thing Christians are being slated for. It's rather controversial sadly. But it's only because they have their beliefs. But we are told that this will happen. The world hated Jesus first and so we too will hated. It's all worth it though. Temporary persecution here on Earth but an eternity of praising our Heavenly Father after. I'd say that's worth being persecuted for.
Of course, the persecution I suffer is nothing compared to what so many Christian's suffer. Church is illegal, owning a Bible is illegal, family are tortured, kidnapped. Some even face death. I would say I have it pretty easy in England. I don't know about you.
So a few people disagreeing with me about what I believe about some things going on in the world such as marriage definitions is no bother to me. I know I have something to look forward that they probably don't.
And I'd take the future I have over theirs any day. Struggle now and an amazing eternity with God later or temporary pleasures now and separation from God later? Yeah, I know which I'd rather have.
