Greenbelt is down in Cheltenham at the racecourse. And it is Christian. In a sense. However, to say it is different to the Christianity I've been brought up around is an understatement. It is in fact the complete opposite.
I've been brought up that the Bible is God's word and it is completely true. However, Greenbelt, isn't quite there with that. It appears that most of it is peoples views, I didn't hear anything about a Bible, I didn't see a Bible. I did hear about Mother Nature though...(the traditional one not the tampax pearl one!)
However, I wasn't there as a 'camper' I was helping a charity on their stand in the exhibition area. I was working with Open Doors for the weekend. They serve Christians around the world who are persecuted. We were asking people to commit to praying for the Christians in the Arab world at the moment.
The response was amazing. I quickly learnt the ropes (this was another new experience) and explained what Open Doors do, who they were and why we were there.
To say we got more positive responses then I thought we would is an understatement. I'm not going to lie, I thought 50 people agreeing to pray would be good. We had over 300! Of course It's not a numbers game, but it's pretty encouraging.
So that was my weekend. Pretty awesome :)
The team. Minus Alan....
