End of a holiday

I find the only thing worse then being homesick when at university is that last couple of days of your time at home. And a don't mean a weekend. Often a weekend (whether short or long) away from university is great. Gives you a break from living away at home, a break from flatmates you don't get on with and a break from cooking and washing. And a big bonus? You get a bath!
However when you've had a holiday at home and you've got used to all the perks of being at home and it feels ages since you were at university going back feels very daunting and ever so slightly scary. I can honestly say I hate the last couple of days at home. And I hate the first couple of days back. But soon I'm back into the swing of things and ready to face it all over again.

At the end of the day, it's something that has to happen. And you know you'll be going home again at very soon. The time flies by, but the first few days back aren't always the most fun.

Although sometimes I think that my break at home has been a disaster. My family don't talk to me much as they've got used to me being away so actually forget I'm here. Except when they want something like cooking or ironing or washing done. But I do know that they love me being around which just makes it better :) That sounds so corny. But it's true.

So tomorrow I head back to Sunderland for 10 days, back for a long weekend then back for a few weeks then done. First year is nearly done and it's crazy how fast it's gone.
