One Born Every Minute

Have you ever seen One Born Every Minute?
My Mum originally trained to be a midwife 30 years ago, she no longer is one and no longer works on the Special Care Baby Unit. However, watching this does take her back to those days and her days of labour having me and my brother. I've always watched this with my Mum. It's been an incredible chance to learn about this experience. It's also been an incredible chance to have an hour with my Mum and be able to discuss all sorts of things as you can get all sorts of adverts during this show and all sorts of topics can come up during the show.
So it's really strange watching this show at university without my mum. I have to remember any questions for when I speak to her. Although I am far more knowledgable now so I don't have so many questions now.
This weeks episode was different. They had a baby who was born with a cleft lip. Which was different. Also it's very strange to see it on a baby. It was repaired though with surgery.
Just seeing the stories of the women and how they have coped and watching them in labour is amazing. I think it's something people always avoid because they just go 'it's painful!' Which sure it looks it but there are so many options to help.
I do love this show and it's very educational. It should be shown in sex education to show teenagers what happens if you aren't sensible! I think it might help. aha.
Anyway, I just wanted to share this gem with you. Because it is an incredible show and really emotional and beautiful to watch. I hope you catch it one week and watch it. And don't be put off by the scream and blood. Remember, that comes up in horror films and people watch them ALL the time.
