A mix blog

One of the sad things about being at uni and having to live away from home is not seeing your family very often. Luckily this wonderful thing called Skype was invented. You can video call friends and family for free for hours on end. So I have just skyped my family. It was lovely to see their faces. It's really nice to be able to do when you have an evening by yourself. Allows you to see some people and talk to them. It certainly helps with homesickness and loneliness.

My day at uni today wasn't to bad. My lecture this morning was nice and simple because it was just a refresher of stuff I did in college and then I recorded my interview for my individual piece for my radio module and I had my tv studio lesson. I love it but the girl who's the director is awful and I don't like her much as a person. I find her very annoying and she swears A LOT! And it isn't needed. IT's quite annoying. She takes over a lot and a lot of people don't like her for it. Even her friends don't like it. It's fairly annoying. Then I had my seminar for my morning lecture which wasn't to bad.

So one of my flatmates moved out the other day, another has gone home, another is at the gym and another is at the cinema. So I am on my own so I am pondering as to what film to watch.
I'm thinking about Pretty Woman. Julia Robert and Richard Gere. It's a classic and I love it.

It's one of those that I wasn't allowed to watch till I was 15 because of what it is about. For those of you who don't know. It's about a girl called Vivianne who finds herself being a prostitute on the streets of Beverly Hills. She doesn't want that life but it's all that she is able to do as she didn't finish High School. One night Edward drives by and asks for directions. She ends up in his hotel room where nothing happens. he hires her to be his 'beck and call girl' for the week. The film tells the story of their week together. It's a beautiful story showing the characters weaknesses and who they are on the inside. I really love it. It's so beautiful.  So this is what I think I am going to watch this evening.  Julia Roberts and  Richard Gere were also in Runaway Bride together, which is another brilliant film. They are both brilliant in that together. I think there is some sort of connection between them which makes the films they are in together just seem to work. I love both of the films and I don't think I have a favourite out of the two of them. They are both so good.

Next week I finish university for the term. Then 2/9 of my degree will be done! (Almost 1/3!) It's crazy to think how quickly it has come around. Feels like yesterday I got here so scared about it all! But it's been a good term. I've been much more passionate and interested. So glad I stuck it out. My old college tutor Chris would have had me should I have dropped out!!! So I won't be letting that happen. I'll keep going and see what happens.
